Virginia Talens (Climate Change Network for Community Initiatives, Philippines) is a Doctor of Medicine practising as a community physician in the Philippines for 30 years now and presently the training officer of the CCNCI since 2018. After pursuing a degree in Biology from the University of the Philippines, she proceeded to finish a Medical degree from the University of Manila (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila). After obtaining her license, she immediately worked in the rural communities of the islands in Luzon and Visayas as physician and Director of Community Based Health Programmes implementing preventive health education, disaster response and grassroots health machinery building. She is currently a community educator, writer and climate justice advocate for CCNCI.
