Doctor of Medicine, graduate in tropical medicine, Dr Pierre Ryckmans has a few years of humanitarian experience in Africa, as well as more than 20 years of experience in humanitarian or social medicine projects in Belgium, first with migrants with an illegal status with Médecins sans Frontières and Médecins du Monde, then with Infirmiers de Rue in the follow-up and reintegration of homeless people. His interest has always focused on the influence of the environment and living conditions on the physical and mental health of populations and the policy responses required, beyond medical and technical responses.
