Nicolette van Duursen serves as the European representative for Ipas. She has 25 years of experience working as a Technical Advisor and Country and Regional Director, leading organisations and SRHR, HIV, health, savings & Loans, social transformation, agricultural and nutrition programmes in Africa and South Asia, in particular in Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, DRC, India, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe. She has built and led skilled, professional regional and country teams to develop, plan and implement programmes, oversaw the development and implementation of region-specific SRHR strategic plans (Southern Africa, Francophone Africa, Sahel) with Concern, Care, MSI and Ipas. She introduced innovative family planning and safe abortion programmes and brought new products like SayanaPress©, MVA and CombiPack on the market in various African countries. She has been at the forefront of designing self-care health programmes and building related new partnerships. Nicolette is a biologist and anthropologist by training.
