Deepika is a PhD in Public Health Policy from IIM Ahmedabad, India (2018). With an interdisciplinary background through science, management and policy degrees, her interests span across different areas of public health, humanitarian issues and environment with a special interest in gender and governance aspects in all these sectors. In her PhD, she evaluated the implementation of accountability mechanisms in India’s largest social health insurance programme RSBY (now revamped to Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana).

Deepika is currently working as a consultant with ITM Antwerp, Belgium on an Urban Health Governance study based in Delhi, where she is evaluating the governance mechanisms of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) along with the support of the National Health Systems Resource Centre.
