Biswanath Basu is Project Director at the West Bengal Voluntary Health Association, India and has more than 39 years of experience in the field of community health care. He is actively involved and participates in grass root NGOs. Since the last 20 years, Biswanath Basu is deeply engaged in the Basic Health Care Support Programme in a partnership with grass root NGOs, government health stakeholders and local administration, to improve peoples’ accessibility to quality health care services. He is facilitating five district level networks, “District Health Forums” in two states of India to reinforce the local health system thanks to the involvement of 42 NGOs, public and private actors.
